Across the US, believers and unbelievers alike have distanced from local churches in response to misunderstandings and misconceptions regarding Jesus and church in the modern context. In order to compassionately respond to the nuance and complexity in an articulate, visually represented means for the sake of clarifying the truth, beauty, and meaning found in Jesus, we see a need for shareable digital content to be created and curated to offer clarity, support, and a fresh invitation both to those far from Christ and those close.

Embodied community

Over the last three years, we’ve traveled to nearly 30 major cities connecting with churches and church leaders that exemplify the lifestyle of Jesus in the earth. We’re currently full-steam-ahead on the relaunch of our website and our plan is to highlight nine churches in major cities like San Francisco and New York, where we’ll rollout an updated holistic-formation framework aimed at introducing and reintroducing people to these local communities.

Digital Evangelism

In order to present the beauty, truth and meaning explicit in the life, teachings and mission of Jesus, we must compassionately respond to the confusing, incoherent experiences that so many describe having: engaging directly how to read the timeless but ancient library of biblical literature and owning the when, where and how that Christian communities have failed to personify the creator. The verbiage of “response,” comes from our conviction that compassion comes on the heels of courteous curiosity. Technology has empowered us to listen wider and deeper than ever in history and then to algorithmically follow that up with a genuine personalized response — truly meeting someone where they are, as they are, not simply as they want to be perceived.

Compelling apologetics

Profoundly compelling evidence and explanations have already been researched and presented by historians, scientists, philosophers, and theologians across the planet for centuries. The presence of a loving, intelligent designer at the center of all reality is observable, but unfortunately the disconnection, disunity and discontinuity of Christian communities have siloed and separated significant scholarly work. Beyond the objective, the subjective experiential side has repetitively contradicted the claims and characteristics of the creator about the created. We see a need for both the digital curation and re-creation of content that communicates clearly and compassionately the evidence and clues pointing to Jesus.

In order to accomplish what we’ve been working towards for the last four years, we will need to grow our team to include software developers, designers, filmmakers, theologians, and others.

Technology

We see technology and art as human tools that can be used for the cultivation of societal flourishing. Data is, in our opinion, under utilized by Followers of Jesus. More than ever in human history, the opportunity to connect with those out of reach, has never been this within reach.

Staying Local

Every effort we make is ultimately an effort to integrate and bridge people back into the healthy Jesus centered community. The Christian journey is intended to be walked together, not alone, therefore, we exist as an empowering extension of local communities living in the real streets of cities like yours.
